Show CSU Completes Sale 1 of Trailer Village Housing Units As the result of successful bidding bid-ding for trailer houses at the College of Southern Utah "Trailer "Trail-er Village" will disappear from the college campus soon after the first of March, Hazen Cooley, secretary an 1 treasurer at the college reports. Bids for the purchase of the 26 trailer houses that have comprised com-prised "Trailer Village" and housed many students for a number of years were opened Tuesday with the result that sales of all of the houses, with the possible exception of one, were made, and under the terms of the contracts the houses must be removed from the campus within 30 davs. Expansion of dormitory facilities facili-ties at the college since the trailers trail-ers were first moved to the campus cam-pus has been visibly significant and the need for the village has become less acute each year, and now with the new 200 man men's dormitory under construction construc-tion there will be no need whatsoever what-soever for the units. The administration admin-istration had decided to close the village at the end of school this spring, but an explosion in the central utility unit hastened the sale of the units. Mr. Cooloy states that bids were received on all of the units, with prices offered ranging from $100 to $250, depending on the condition of the unit, with the sale price of all the units averaging averag-ing about $150. He also pointed out that not more than three : units went to any one individual and in most cases the buyers purchased only one. In addition, the sale was widespread and very few, if any, of the units will be moved to locations within the limits of Cvlar City. Some will go onto farms and ranches, in this vicinity, and purchasers came from four different counties. Iron, Washington, Beaver and Sevier. The area on the campus occupied occu-pied by the trailer units, immediately immed-iately north of the memorial fieldhouse, will be cleared and used for a parking lot for field-house field-house users until it may be needed need-ed for additional buildings sometime some-time in the future. |
