Show Herman E.Bayles Named School Board President Herman E. Bayles of Parowan, who lias served on the Iron County Coun-ty School Board for the past four years, was named president of the board at a meeting held Wednesday evening. Mr. Bayles succeeds Samuel Abbott of Paragonah Para-gonah as head of the board. Dr. James S. Prestwich was reelected re-elected to the position of vice president. Leo Larson, Boyd Smith and Mr. Abbot are the remaining re-maining three board members. The board approved calling for bids for furnituie for the new North Elementaiy school in Cedar Ce-dar City, now under construction and expected to be completed in time for the opening of school in September. The call for bids will be published soon. Authorization Authori-zation was also given for the purchase of a new school bus, to replace one of the old ones now in use. Bids will also be asked on this soon. A resolution was adopted transferring trans-ferring money in the building reserve re-serve fund to the ective building fund to be used to help finance the North Elementary building program. Superimenderit Ianthus Wright, and school board members Leo Larson and J. S. Prestwich will leave early next week to attend the National School Board Association As-sociation convention opening in Atlantic City, N. J. on Feb. 11. Mr. Wright will also attend the National School Administrators Association convention which follows at the close of the school board conference. |
