Show Five from county named Outstanding Americans organizations. Scott David Barton, 23, of Fruit Heights was nominated by Colleen Garcide from Weber State College. Scott has been active in student government and served as the presidential assistant to the student body president. He is a pre med and zoology major. West Bountiful resident, Charles Robert Harker, 35, is a building contractor for Harker Construction Company. He was nominated by Don Larson. R. Kirk Heaton, 34, of Bountiful is an attorney with Callister, Duncan, Dun-can, and Nebeker. He was nominated nomi-nated by James R. Holbrook. "I get these things all the time," he said. "I've just never sent it in before." Bountiful resident James Stanton Mason, 36 was nominated by Chris Davis, city attorney. James is the director di-rector of Administrative Services for Roy. William Steven Meyer, 31, of Bountiful was traffic engineer for Salt Lake City, but has now moved to Centennial Engineering. He was nominated by Doug Wheelwright, planner for Salt Lake City. Each man will have his biographical entry printed in the 1989 publication of Outstanding Young Men of America. By SARAH HANSEN The Board of Advisors for the Outstanding Young Men of America (OYMA) recently named five Davis County residents for inclusion in-clusion in the 1989 edition of Outstanding Young Men of America. The OYMA program honors exceptional ex-ceptional young men between the ages of 21 and 40. To qualify, the men need to have distinguished themselves in a variety of fields such as service to the community, professional leadership, academic achievement, business advancement, advance-ment, cultural accomplishments, and civic and political participation. Their achievements are the result of dedication, responsibility and a drive for excellence, qualities OYMA advisors believe deserve to be recognized and remembered. Over 150,000 nominations were submitted by political leaders, University Uni-versity and College officials, clergymen, business leaders and various civic and community |
