Show Bountiful site of Disney movie vice-versa dance, not with Jennifer, but with Kelly. In the final scene, Nick, Ben and Kelly share a happy and mischievous moment. Nick has learned a lot about what a winner really is. Utah was selected because of the "weather, the variety of interesting locations, and the strong base for a local cast." The casting process lasted about eight weeks, beginning with pictures and resumes from agents. They then had first calls where the prospects auditioned. Next were call backs, and lastly final calls. Several Davis county residents were selected as extras. The Filming for the 12 ten-minute episodes began June 15 under the direction of William Shippey, producer, pro-ducer, Matt Casella, director; and Bob Ebinger, director of photography. By SARAH HANSEN Cornerstone Productions, based in Hollywood, Calif., selected Bountiful and Salt Lake City as the site to film "My Life as a Babysitter," a television production to be shown on the Disney Channel in August. "My Life as a Babysitter" is the story of Nick, a senior boy who learns what really constitutes a winner. When the school year starts, Nick places a bet with longtime long-time rival, Mitch Buckley to see which of them Jennifer, the new girl, will ask to the vice-versa dance. Nick, upon learning that Jennifer has signed up for Child Care 101, signs up also, hoping to impress her with his "sensitivity." Much to his chagrin, Nick is faced with the class requirement of spending 30 hours 4 babysitting, time during which Mitch Mit-ch is charming Jennifer in ordinary macho ways. Nick finds himself babysitting a 9-year-old boy named Ben every afternoon. He also meets the girl who lives next door to Ben, Kelly-who, Kelly-who, unlike Jennifer is a girl with little flash but with honest values. Nick treats her like a "pal" and shares with her his anxieties about getting the date with Jennifer. Kelly, Kel-ly, although wishing for a deeper relationship, re-lationship, gives Nick her advice and counsel. Nick and Ben share some comical com-ical initial conflicts, but begin to appreciate and value one another after a while. They even build a special treehouse named "Florida." At the same time, Nick is beginning to see Jennifer for the manipulative and superficial person she is, but still feels he must beat Mitch at the bet. Nick's efforts to win Jennifer all backfire, but through a fluke happenstance, hap-penstance, Jennifer does ask Nick to the vice-versa dance. In his excitement, excite-ment, Nick thoughtlessly shares news this with Kelly. Kelly, who has had it with Nick by now, angrily tells Nick off, chiding him for his selfish using of Ben, and telling him that he doesn't care about Ben (or her) at all. Unbeknownst to Kelly or Nick, Ben was eavesdropping and now feels let down and abandoned. While Nick is at Jennifer's waiting to take her to the dance, Kelly calls telling him that Ben has disappeared. Nick is now faced with a choice: he believes he knows where Ben is, but he has the beautiful beau-tiful Jennifer before him. Nick decides to leave Jennifer to find Ben. It turns into a rather dramatic dra-matic rescue, requiring courage from Nick and trust from Ben. Eventually, Nick does turn up at the |
