Show Pilot addresses Kiwanians with his wife who is a school teacher. Other interesting phases of helicopter work for Capt. Penning, dubbed 'Hover Lover," are running runn-ing tests for developers, and "drops and pickups" for mountain top workers. He is flying safety officer, 6545th Test Group. In a question period, he outlined how Thunderbirds are selected and the rotation plan which includes about 10 years of Air Force experience, experi-ence, before entering the program. The Hill Air Force Base 50th Anniversary show was carried over into the regular meeting of the Bountiful Kiwanis Club when Capt. Mike Penning pictured helicopter operations including crash investigations, in-vestigations, drone recovery and mid-air salvage of cruise missiles. Capt. Penning entered helicopter pilot training in 1984 and was stationed at Hill Field in 1987.
