Cheer the hero, boo the villain at kanab melodrama A comic melodrama entitled en-titled "Mallas" is now convulsing audiences at the Old Barn Playhouse next to Parry Lodge in Kanab. Written and directed by Jim Skaggs, the plav is a takeoff on the popular TV serial "Dallas". Skaggs and Donna Casebolt collaborated on the music. The show is presented nightly except Sunday at 8:45 and will continue until the deer season opens October Oc-tober 17. The audience heartily participates with cheers for the hero and boos and hisses for the villain as they have at each other to the sprightly tunes of honky-tonk piano played by Dan Jacobs and Donna Casebolt. K.R. Booing is the villain, assisted by Sue. Timothy Goodfeller is the hero and Charity is the heroine. She is loyally supported by her sister Melissa and brother Stevie. Grandpa Lead-bottom Lead-bottom is their patriarch and the object of K.R.'s evil intentions. Setting for "Mallas" is a little mining town in Texas and the time is 1888. |
