Show Give'em the right bait-wham The fish will bite if you give them the right bait and you can start doing that on May 30 this year and continue con-tinue to angle until November 30. But remember "you may keep only six trout opening day and the 31st and that the limit of catfish from Willard Bay and Utah Lake has been reduced from 16 to 8. After the 31st you may keep 8 trout. Other changes in the rules involve whitefish season and waters, year around waters and waters with special regulations. Consult 1981 fishing regulations for these. No boat fishing is permitted per-mitted on Duck Creek Spring Lake or Aspen Mirror Lake, nor Pine Valley reservoir in Washington county. All waters west of Interstate I-15 I-15 except Minersville reservoir in Beaver county and all waters below Forest Service boundary except Baker and Kolob reservoirs and Kolob tributaries are open all year. So is Lake Powell in Kane County. Lake Powell Regulations Pertinent Stipulations 1. Any person possessing a valid Arizona license may fish in the waters of Lake Powell within Arizona without a Utah stamp, and any person possessing a valid Utah license may fish in the waters of Lake Powell within Utah without an Arizona stamp. 2. Any person qualifying as an Arizona resident having in his possession a valid resident Arizona fishing license and an eight dollar ($8.00) Utah stamp shall be permitted to fish within the Utah boundaries of Lake Powell. - 3. Any person qualifying as a Utah resident having in his possession a valid Utah fishing license and a three dollar ($3.00) Arizona stamp shall be permitted to fish within the Arizona boundaries boun-daries of Lake Powell. 4. Juveniles under the age of fourteen (14) may fish without a license. Creel and possession limits shall be the same as for adults EXCEPT only one-half the legal adult limit of trout may be taken. 5. Any person properly licensed pursuant to the regulations set forth above may fish in any and all waters of Lake Powell and may enter said waters from any point. The fishing stamps of either state MUST BE SIGNED ACROSS THE FACE by the holder therof in the same manner as his name appears on the fishing license of either state. 6. The fishing stamps of either state shall be valid from January 1 to December 31 of the year of issuance, and sale of fishing stamps may be conducted in any manner mutually agreed upon by the Utah Board and Arizona Commission. The respective Board or Commission, Com-mission, in their discretion, may establish licensed dealers in the other state for the purpose of selling licenses and fishing stamps. 7. It is further agreed that each state shall permit only one (1) daily limit of fish per licensed fisherman, and no person shall be permitted to take a daily limit of fish under the regulations of both states in any one (1) day. 8. This agreement shall be applicable to bank fishermen fisher-men as well as all other fishermen. When Cleaning Fish . . . . . .on lakes and reservoirs in a boat: break air bladder. Deposit offal at least 100 feet from shore. . . .on lakes and reservoirs on shore: depositing fish remains is prohibited within 100 feet of shore. Dispose of by burying, depositing in trash can, or by carrying home. . . .on streams: deposit in stream away from shoreline. Break air bladder. Treat as on lakes and reservoirs on shore. . . .for identification of species: leave enough skin to show proof of species when skinning or filleting. If caught littering with fish offal you may be required to clean up shore or be cited for littering. |
