Show Beaver riders sponsor rodeo The third annual amateur rodeo sponsored by the Beaver Riding Club will be staged Friday and Saturday the 24th and 25th of July. The show will start at 7:30 each evening at the arena east of town at the mouth of Beaver Canyon. It will be preceded by the Pioneer Day parade downtown on the 24th. Besides a full program of bucking horse riding, calf roping, bull riding and bulldogging, there will be specialty acts and barrell racing with clowns hamming ham-ming it up for laughs while protecting fallen cowboys. A feature of the two-day arena events will be the raffle of a $950 Ben Terrell roping saddle. CLUB IS ACTIVE Now three years old, the Beaver Riding Club has become a major civic activity. ac-tivity. It sponsors trail rides, steak fries, Little Britches Rodeos and team roping jackpots. The first Little Britches show of the summer will take place this weekend. There will be several more before winter. Two or three jackpots will also be conducted. Officers of the club are Brent Blackner, president; Rodney Bradshaw, rodeo chairman; Bruce Brown, Russell Gale and Mike Lim, advertising and promotion; Mike Dalton, secretary; Rowland Yardley and Jeff Ashworth, grounds chairmen. |
