Show Science program set Twelve- minority students will participate in a science-oriented work program this summer as part of Upward Up-ward Bound activities at Southern Utah State College. Funding for the program is being made available through a National Science Foundation Research Apprenticeship Grant. "Minority students from Cedar City, Page, South Sevier, Tuba City and Monument Valley high schools will participate par-ticipate in the project which is being closely coordinated with the existing v SUSC Upward Bound program," said Carolyne White, Upward Bound director. The summer com ponent, June 15 - August 1, will include "hands on" research experiences and academic classwork. Students will work as junior associates on research projects ranging from program production at the SUSC Ashcroft Observatory to survey fieldwork with SUSC's seventh annual Field School in Southwestern South-western Archeology. |
