Instead, the Board voted to have Joard Member Worth Grimshaw act as emporary mayor until the next neeting, when it will hopefully decide ipon a a definite appointment. Mayor Justin Gray announced his 'esignation earlier this month, ef-ective ef-ective at midnight, Apr. 15. He said the nove was because of "personal easons." He amplified that a bit last week, laying, "I've enjoyed it, but it's just jetting to hectic." The Board members expressed their ippreciation to Gray and presented lim with a gavel engraved with the ivords, "in appreciation of outstanding lervice." The Board also approved two igreements in the long session: one with attorney Phil Eves and one with ron County. An agreement with Eves was passed inanimously concerning his era-Joyment era-Joyment as city attorney. His low bid vas accepted at the last meeting. The terms of the agreement are that te be on a two hour per month retainer it $40 per hour. This time can be built ip from month to month. Any time he pends serving the city beyond this will e billed at $45 per hour. The Board did add one stipulation to le agreement: a provision requiring Hiays notice before either side could 9-minate the agreement. Eves will need to approve the change sfore the agreement is official. An agreement to have Iron County Building Inspector Vic Middleton issue building permits and offer other services ser-vices to the town. His duties will include inspecting buildings and collecting fees for such and for water hook-ups, as well as fees for the placement of garbage dump-sters dump-sters on construction sites. Building permit fees issued in the town limits will be split 50-50 between the county and the town, while all water hook-ups and garbage dumpster fees will go to Enoch. The Board also approved a clean-up week May 9-16, in tamdem with Cedar City's clean-up week. Board Member Craig Rollo will chair a committee to plan the week, including the special placement of dumpsters around the town. In other business The Board approved waiving the requirement that water rights be turned over to the city for the owners of three lots just west of Garden Park Subdivision. This is in exchange for a right-of-way easement for the new water line to be installed there this spring. The Board approved moving the town phone from former Building Inspector In-spector DeVon Jones' house to Secretary Ann Zufeldt's. The Enoch City Corporation phone number is 586-1119. 586-1119. The Board approved the hiring of one youth from the area to help in park and cemetery maintenance through the summer. He will be hired through job service on a special youth employment em-ployment program. |
