Show Small airplane stops short, no one injured A single engine Cessna 152 airplane nosed into the ground 75 yards short of the east-west runway at the Cedar City Airport on the evening of April 14. The pilot, George Thompson, and a passenger walked away from the accident. The plane, inbound from Sacramento, Calif., was low on fuel and sputtering as Thompson made his approach while in contact with the Cedar City Flight Service. Cedar City ; Fire Department units were dispatched to the airport at 8:05 p.m. According to a fire department' spokesman, the plane suffered $10,000 worth of damage, mostly to the wings and front-end. front-end. Thompson and a boy passenger escaped without a scratch. |
