Show Gets prison term for rifle thefts Nathan Cook, 20, Vernal, was sentenced to one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison Tuesday by 4th District Judge Allen H. Sorensen as a result of guilty pleas entered to second-degree felony charges of theft and burglary. Cook was accused of breaking into the Clyde Kuppe residence, 3077 South 1500 East, Feb. 7 and taking three rifles, a lantern and chainsaw. He pleaded guilty to the charges in district court May 25. Judge Sorensen handed down the prison term after Deputy Uintah County Coun-ty Attorney Richard Davidson noted that Cook failed once to appear in court for arraignment on the charges May 11. Defease attorney Roland Urest requested that Cook undergo additional evaluation evalua-tion with the state Division of Adult Probation and Parole. |
