Show Public hearing set for Chevron slurry Public input for the proposed Chevron phosphate slurry pipeline from the existing Chevron phosphate mine north of Vernal to Rock Springs, is being sought by the Bureau of Land Management. The comments will be considered in developing the scope of an Environmental En-vironmental Impact Statement which will be prepared jointly by the BLM and the State of Wyoming Industrial Siting Administration. The public has until July 30, 1982 to submit their comments to District Manager, Bureau of Land Management, Manage-ment, 170 South 500 East, Vernal. The proposed 84-mile slurry pipeline would connect the existing Chevron phosphate mine, 10 miles north of Vernal, Ver-nal, to a proposed fertilizer plant 4.5 miles southeast of Rock Springs. Wyo. ' There would also be two water supply pipelines and intake structures and a 6.4-mile railroad spur. Water for the project would be allocated from the Fontenelle Reservoir. Two scoping meetings will be held in Utah July 28, Conference Hall at South Boulevard, Dutch John, Utah at 7 p.m. and July 29, Uintah County Courthouse, 147 East Main, Vernal, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to participate in the scoping process by submitting written writ-ten concerns to the BLM, or presenting orally, their concerns at one of the public meetings.
