Show Man faces check charge A felony charge of fradulently issuing bad checks will be added to misdemeanor charges of theft and criminal mischief against a South Dakota man arrested by Vernal police, according to the Uintah County Sheriff's office. Michael Cline, 25, will be charged with writing at least $500 of checks against an account closed at First Interstate Bank over a month ago, said Sheriff's Cpl. Larry Crowl. Over $400 of bad checks was recovered from John's Bestway, 2280 South 1500 East, and another $100 of checks was turned over to the Sheriff by Vernal police, said Cpl. Crowl. Cline was being held Tuesday in the Uintah County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. Cline allegedly broke the windshield and some windows out of an ex-girlfriend's ex-girlfriend's car with a shovel Thursday when he went to her residence to pick up some belongings, according to Vernal police. He allegedly took $40 in coins from the residence, according to police. |
