Show Youngsters snare rodeo honors Contestants from throughout the Uintah Uin-tah Basin competed in the Ballard Little Lit-tle Buckaroo Rodeo Friday and Saturday Satur-day at the Ballard Indoor Arena. Brett Nielson pocketed first place in the 12-14 year old bareback bronc riding event at 60 and Ronnie Shanks placed second at 58. Aaron Reary garnered third place at 53. Eleven riders took part in the event Friday. Kenny Andrews and Denny Wilkins split first and second in the 12-14 year old calf riding contest Friday at 60 and Nielson placed third at 38. Shanks netted net-ted fourth place at 37. Ten contestants clashed in the event. Doug Clark pocketed first place Friday Fri-day in the 10-11 year old bareback bronc riding event at 59 and Jason Emerson placed second at 49. David Dean placed third at 47. All seven contestants made successful rides. Clark also picked up first place in the 10-11 year old calf riding event at 55 and ' Jared Reary placed second at 33. Tammy Tam-my Murray captured third at 32. Eight cowboys and cowgirls competed in the event Friday. Tommy Melo garnered first place Friday in the 7-9 year old bareback bronc riding event at 51 and Rusty Phillips captured second at 49. Josh Davis nabbed third place at 48. Eleven riders competed in the event. Max Long captured first place Friday in the 7-9 year old calf riding event at 54 and Andy Davis garnered second place at 49. Tracy Butcher snared third place with a score of 28. Twelve contestants took part in the event. Wilkins garnered first place in the calf roping contest Friday at 16.0 and Reary placed second at 18.5. Shanks acquired ac-quired third place at 31.5. Clark bagged all-around honors and Long was the runner-up. Eight contestants in the roping.
