Show Manila Clara Robinson Phone 784-5333 Class reunions for 61-62-63 The Manila High School graduating class of "62" held a reunion in Manila this weekend. This would be their 20th year since graduating. As there were only 12 graduating in that class, the classes of 61 and 63 were invited to at-tfAd at-tfAd the reunion. Fifteen of Manila's forner students attended with their partneis and children. Seven of the "62" class attended, five of the class of "fil" and three of the class of "63". The first meeting of the reunion was at the Manila High School at 11 a.m. Saturday. They then attended the annual an-nual Cow Country Kodeo. At 5 p.m. they had a dinner at the Red Canyon Lodge. That evening they attended the Queen's Dance at the Manila High School gym. Sunday morning they had a continental breakfast at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Steinaker. The one traveling the farthest was Robert Behling of Ohio. The Cow Country Rodeo that everyone has been looking forward to was held July 17-18. The rodeo started both Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Natalie Radosevich was this year's queen. She was presented a buckle by the Lion's club which sponsored the ' rodeo, queen's contest and queen's dance. Other buckles were present to the first place winners in each event and money to all of them who placed. The various events and winners are as follows: bull riding -1st Casey Aimone, 2nd (tie) Wade Ryan and Jess Steele, 3rd (tie) Brett Hickingson and Neal Lamb; calf roping-lst Kyle Kosoff, 2nd Larry Anderson, 3rd Bill Van Noy. Saddle bronc, 1st Bob Anderson, Ander-son, 2nd Larry Anderson, 3rd Jim Hoffman. Hoff-man. Bull dogging, 1st Lance Moon, 2nd John Provost, 3rd Jack Woostenhulme; team roping, 1st Corey McNeill and Kary McNeil, 2nd Tom Montgomery and John Fields, 3rd Bud Massey and Rex Wilkins; bareback riding, 1st Brett Reeder, 2nd Steve Hopes, 3rd Steve Richens. Winners in the kids barrel racing, 1st Teresa Potter, 2nd Ryan Potter, 3rd Brad Logan; junior barrels, 1st John Jensen, 2nd Julie Jensen and 3rd Sonya Labrum. Ladies barrel racing, 1st Kris-ty Kris-ty McNeil, 2nd Cindy Hickey and 3rd Barbara Besso. Ladies break-away, 1st Cindy Young, 2nd Edie Pallesen, 3rd Connie Besso; goat tying, 1st Kristy McNeil, 2nd Cindy Young, 3rd Heidi Hamilton. Gift certificates donated by the Corral Cor-ral West in the amount fo $10 each was given to the hard luck cowboys in each event as follows: bull riding, Duke Douglas; bareback ridingt Brett Hackinson; saddle bronc, Bob McMillan; bull dogging, Kelly Clegg; calf roping, Todd Potter; ladies barrels, bar-rels, Cindy Young; team roping, Mark and Larry Anderson; ladies breakaway, break-away, Trudy Moon, kids barrel racing, Jamie Lamb and junior barrel racing, Yvette Lamb. The queen's buckle was donated by the Lion's Club. Other buckles were donated as follows: ladies barrel racing, rac-ing, Delimart; ladies break-away, Eagle Fastners; ladies goat tying, Eagle Fastners; junior barrel racing, Erich Taxidermy; kids barrel racing, Lucerne Valley Marina; bareback riding, Cable Consultants; saddle bronc, Grubb's Cafe; calf roping, Boyd Pallesen; team roping, Steinaker Chevron and Real Estate and Viar's Body Shop; bull riding, Boondocks Cafe and Motel; bulldogging, Reed's Motor and Marine. The rodeo stock contractor was Danny Dan-ny Clegg. The rodeo is sponsored each year by the Daggett County Lion's Club. The classes of '65 through '70 pf Manila High School held their reunion Saturday. A dinner 'was held at the Grubb Cafe followed by a record dance with music of the 60s at the Manila High School that evening. A new reunion committee for the reunion reu-nion to be held again in five years were chosen. They are Susan Cook, president; presi-dent; Jana Tinker, vice president; and Mari Gean Campbell, secretary. That will be the 20 years since graduating for the alumni. There were 27 attending the dinner. Lois Lowell, chairman, could not come at the last minute due to the illness il-lness of her mother Mrs. Cliff Christensen. Four faculty members attended: Marion Jones, Gary Jones, Barbara Briggs and James Briggs. Those traveling the farthest were from Carlin, Nev., Grand Junction, Col-o. Col-o. and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Barbara (Simpson) Newhouse arrived the next day but missed the reunion. She had come from Arkansas. There were a great many people in Manila this weekend for the rodeo, for class reunions, for fishing trips, for water skiing and boating, as well as the regular summer residents home for the weekend. The water supply is gone in Manila although it had regained a good level quite rapidly before when it was so low. Some people are Jalready out of water Monday morning due to the heavy influx in-flux of people. Visiting former friends in Manila this weekend- were Mr. and Mrs. Basil Smith and Mrs. and Mrs. Carlton Meyers of Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Smith and Mr. Meyers are the daughter and son of the former Manila rancher Leland Meyers. Leland Meyers died two months ago. Mr. and Mr. Riley Robinson and sons Sean and Michael and their neighborns Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lucas and daughters of Placentia, Calif., are visiting in Manila this week. Mrs. Robinson had a reunion in Jackson with the Bruce family fami-ly last week. She and her sister Barbara (Bruce) Mills of St. Louis, Mo., returned return-ed to Manila to visit their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lamb before the Bruces returned to St. Louis.
