Show I Vernal I LaVon Wall ' Phone 789-Q521 Eva Hatch has Oklahoma visitors Mr. and Mrs. - Russell Hatch and children, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Brandon and Jason, from Mustang, Oika., spent two weeks at the home of Russell's mother, Mrs. Eva Hatch. While" hereT they visited with Doug Barlow, brother to Mrs. Hatch and traveled to Coalville, Utah., to visit with Mrs. Wayne (Kay) York, formerly of Vernal and mother to Mrs. Hatch. They also enjoyed a camping trip to Mirror Lake. Mike, and Karren Handley and children, Jill, Beth and Carren and baby Mike, from American . Falls, Idaho., visited with Karren's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Birchell. Pauls Ramirez, of Poza Rica, Vera . Cruz, Mexico, is visiting at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Garth (Carmen) (Car-men) Harrison. This is the third year that Paula has visited in the area. She states that she admires and is hoping to learn more of the customs and social life of the people in Utah. Paula is attending at-tending an LDS College in Mexico City, studying education. Paula and Carmen have their mother and father, who reside in Poza Rica and two brothers, the oldest is teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry in San Rafael and their younger brother attends the University of Poza Rica. Mr. and Mrs. Steven (Jeri Kay) Callantine and three boys, Tyler, Troy and Tate, from Ogden are guests at the home of Jeri's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kay for two weeks. During the time the entire family of Av and Virginia held a family gathering at their cabin in Davenport Draw. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McNaughton, the former Wendy Kindt, and children Mandy, Penny Ray from Rochester, Mich., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Art Kindt, Wendy's parents. While here, they attended the Uintah High School class reunion of '60. They traveled to Las Vegas, Nev., before returning to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Acel Thacker, the former Pam Angus, and children, Tracy, Cameron and Bridgett, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Angus last week. They were here to attend the Angus reunion, held at Iron Springs, August 1 and 2. Others from Vernal attending the reunion were Bert and Ila Angus, Bill and Joyce Huff and children, Lynn and Sharon Angus and children and Derk and Annette Labrum . and baby. The Thacker's also attended Sacrament meeting where Sarah, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wally Goddard received her blessing. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shumway and their grandson Jason, recently had occasion to visit and honor both their mothers at different occasions. Both mothers are 94 years old. They visited in Lovell, Wyo., with MrS. Shumway's mother, Mrs. Delila Asay at a family reunion on July 24. They then traveled to Salt Lake City for "Wyoming" reunion at which Charles' mother, Mrs. Zitell Shumway, was honored at the reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Avard Rigby of Salt Lake City, were guests at the home of Paul and Isabell Batty. While here a group including the Batty's, the Rigby's, Roy and Evelyn Showalter and Dan and Clara Price enjoyed a fishing trip on the mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Allen traveled to the Fish Lake Square Dance Festival held on July 25 and 26 in the Fish Lake National Forest. They were joined there by their daughter Linda and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Blackham and family. From here they traveled together to Aspen, Colo., where their granddaughter Angela Blackham participated in the summer ballet program of Ballet West, of which she is a member. The festival was held at Snowmass and included participants world wide. Each participant had been required to compete in order to be chosen to take part in the ballet. Angela, age 13, was among 110 girls chosen. The Blackham's remained in Aspen after the Festival to be with their daughter while she attended a three week workshop under the direction of Mr. "C", Mr. Christensen, head of Ballet West. The Allen's returned home. Mr. and Mrs. George Wall enjoyed a trip into the Mirror Lake region, where they met their son Duayne and Doris Wall and children Kevin and Maria from West Valley City. They fished and traveled by jeep through the lake areas. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Bennett and children of Scott City, Kansas, visited Friday with their sister-in-law, Nona Fay Farr and family. Here to attend the Green reunion and visit her mother, Elvira Slaugh, were Mr. and Mrs. John (Eva Green) Merrell, their son, Brian and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Jannae Russell, all of Mesa, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Merrell and two sons, David and John of Mesa, Ariz., visited with his grandmother, Elvira Slaugh and attended the Green reunion at Iron Springs.
