Show Late starting classes offered at USUEC Several classes are starting the latter part of the second block of summer quarter at Utah State University Education Center. These classes include in-clude computer science 150. instructional in-structional Media 511 and 531, and psychology Bfifi. Instructional media 511, evaluation and selection of instructional materials, will review, evaluate, and select instructional materials with criteria for evaluation of all media. Use will be made of standard evaluation and selection tools and reviewing publications. The class will be taught by Dr. Brenda Branyan from August 11-15 and 18-22 at 8 a.m., and is a three credit hour class. It will alternate between Vernal and Roosevelt. Instructional media 531, IMC administration, ad-ministration, includes the study of organization, personnel, budgets, selection, and evaluation of materials and equipment. It provides for a wide variety of media services. This class will be from August 11-15 and 18 22 and be taught by Dr. Brenda Branyan. It will start at 5:30 p.m., alternate between bet-ween Vernal and Roosevelt and be worth three credits. Psychology Gfif, principles of learning, lear-ning, will be taught by Dr. David Stone from August 11-16, 18-22 at 5:30 p.m. This class is required in the elementary education masters degree. It carries three credits and will alternate between bet-ween Roosevelt and Vernal. The course covers a survey of learning principles and techniques in psychology and education for the purpose of creating conditions for effective learning with selective in-depth study. Computer science 150, introduction to computer science, covers the methods of collecting and processing information. in-formation. The history of digital computers, computer organization, and how the computer functions will bp introduced Problem solving techniques and elementary programming concepts will also be covered along with computer applications ap-plications The course will be taught by Dr Don Coo ley and begin August 18 at 5:30 p m All classes will be in Vernal. |
