Show " & - - ' ' V , i MARION WALL ABPLANALP Monday funeral service honors Marion Abplanalp Funeral services for Marion Wall Abplanalp, 74, who died July 29, 1980 in Vernal, were Monday, August 4, in the Davis Ward Chapel. He was born April 2, 1906 to John Abplanalp and Eva Maybell Wall. He married Thelda Murray, Jan. 13, 1928 in Vernal. They were later divorced. They had one son, Clarence, who preceded his father in death. Mr. Abplanalp came from a large family of three brothers and eight sisters. Four sisters survive him: Margaret Potter of Yuba City, Calif.; Clara Bell Hezzelwood of Hawthorne; Nev.; Jennie Bunting of Windsor, Calif.; and Laura Satra of Vernal. He left three grandchildren, James Marion Abplanalp of Antioch, Calif.; Clarence Robert Abplanalp of Fontana, Calif,; and Mrs. Linda Kay Allen of Antioch, Calif. He has six great grandchildren all of California. He was a member of the LDS Church, Glines First Ward, where he was a home teacher. He was a rancher and government trapper and lived many years in Colorado. Bishop Chad Orton conducted the service, and A H. Mann gave the family prayer. Bruce Satra offered the invocation, in-vocation, followed by remarks by Bishop Orton. Daun White and Dorothy Peltier sang "Whispering Pines," accompanied by Tex Ross. Bill Workman Work-man and Jay Abplanalp spoke. Don Walker, Lois Erickson and Marva Lent sang "Faith Unlocks the Door," accompanied by Ruth Walker. Robert Abplanalp spoke. Mrs. White and Mrs. Peltier sang "Home on the Range," accompanied by Tex Ross. The benediction was given by Raymond Jenkins. Enid Cook played the prelude and postlude music. Inland Workman dedicated the grave in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Farrell Abplanalp, John Abplanalp, Theron Abplanalp, Tom Abplanalp, John Price and Jim Abplanalp. Honorary pallbearers were Reed Rich, Elmo Hardy, Ercil Oaks and Warren Abplanalp. FUNERAL NOTICE CORRECTION Ray Milton Murray, whose funeral service was Wednesday, July 23, 1980, was 52 years old at the time of his death (not 74). Pallbearers were Robert Eaton, Alan Batty, Dennis Eaton, Reed Atwood, David Murray and Bobbie (not Batty) Staley. |
