Show 4-1-1 County Fair to be held August 13-15 Under the theme of "Expanding Horizons", the Uintah County 4-H and Open Youth Fair will be Aug. 13, 14 and 15 at the Vernal Junior High School. 4-H and open exhibits will be received Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. General rules for exhibits are all 4-H exhibits must be made by enrolled 4-H members, all 4-H club exhibits must arrive at the fair during designated check-in time, and every " exhibit must be labeled. Exhibits may include anything from weeds to cats. For a complete list of entries, a fair book can be obtained at the Extension Agent office. Exhibits will be judged at 9 a.m., Thursday. Judges will classify all exhibits as purple, blue, red and white ribbon winners. Prize money will be given according to the ribbon received, and judges will designate individual exhibits to be sent to the State Fair. There will be a dog show Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a cat show will be Friday at 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The fair will be open to the public at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 15. Home economics, crops and weed judging contests will be at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Cat junior judging will begin at 11 a.m., and a style dress review at 7 p.m., Friday.
