Show Radio stations funeral coverage Dear Editor: I would like to express my feelings on the two radio stations in our area. We recently had a death in our family and due to circumstances beyond our control we could not make the arrangements ar-rangements for the funeral until late on Saturday night. The funeral was for Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. We wanted to get this on the Vernal AM and Roosevelt stations. This man had many friends and relatives in this area. I called KNEU in Roosevelt on Sunday Sun-day morning and asked if they would have a few minutes and put it on their station. The gentleman was very nice, took the information and within 10 minutes we heard it on KNEU. We wish to thank KNEU for this. You don't know how much this meant to us. I in turn called KVEL. The man said our business hours start at 12 noon. So after 12 noon, I called again. He in turn told me these business hours started at 12 noon but this time he told me that was on Monday. I asked even in an emergency? He said yes. So I told him thanks, that it wouldn't really help in this case. Twelve noon on Monday wouldn't really give notice, when the services were at 2 p.m. on Monday in Rangely. I'm sad to say our local station sta-tion can be so I don't care, wait, when you don't really have time to wait. Once again we want to thank KNEU and say you have a very good radio station sta-tion and we listen to it instead of our local KVEL. I would like to thank all that helped us during our time of sickness and the loss of our loved one, Don Dunn. He will be missed by many. In lew of flowers, the family asked for the money to be sent to the Rangely District Hospital in his memory. With this his wife and children bought a very much needed I.V. machine that is automatic. Once again we wish to thank everyone and KNEU, keep up the good work. The family of Donald Dunn. Faye Karren |
