A barbecue reception was held June 30 at Merkley's Park. Richens-Wliiting united in LDS Temple rites Donnel Richens became the bride of Shane Whiting at a June 27 wedding in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Fred W. Schwendiman officiated at the ceremony before 27 relatives and friends of the couple. Parents of the newlyweds are Charles and Donna Richens and Von and Yoma Whiting, all of Vernal. The bride's dress for the wedding was made of qianna and lace of tiny roses on the bodice and sleeves and was decorated with seed pearls. It was accented ac-cented with delicate lace around the neck and sleeves. Her double layered finger-tip veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of rosebuds and petals accented with seed pearls. She carried a bridal cascade bouquet consisting of a large white orchid surrounded sur-rounded by white and blue baby breath and white candle lilies. Lace streamers were tied in love knots and accented with seed pearls. A reception barbecue was held June 30 at Merkley's Park. The bride and groom wore matching blue shirts with flowered yokes. Attending the couple were Kay Lyn Hacking as maid of honor and Duane Cook as bestman. They wore light blue flowered shirts. Janet Hall was at the guest book and Alice Hall, Diane Merkley, Sarah Kettle Ket-tle and Carma Woodard at the gifts. George D. Merkley was master of ceremonies with Shara Hacking, Philip Hall and Gwen Williams entertaining. The dance and background music during the evening was furnished by Mike McKee. The four tiered wedding cake with four smaller cakes around the bottom was covered with white icing and lace and decorated with blue flowers and bells. On top there was a bride and groom under a brandy snifter. The groom's mother made the cake. Helping with the barbecue and reception recep-tion were Ivan and Elaine Hall, Fran and Carol Palmer, Joe and Cheryl Merkley, Kathy Merkley, Nancy Benson, Ben-son, Norman and Wanda Larsen and Thora and Vera Hall ' Wedding pictures were taken by Keith Hall, a cousin of the bride. Nuptual showers were given by Alice Hall; Marilyn Gibbons, Shirley Croft, Cheryl Merkley and Yoma Whiting. A bachelor party was given for the groom by his friends. The couple are making their home in Davis. |
