Show Cyclists injured on detour route Three persons were injured Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week in a vehicle and motorcycle accident. The accident also yielded approximately $2400 damages to the vehicles implicated. According to reports from the Vernal City Police file a car driven by Francie Louise DeMille, 57, of Placerville, CA. was east bound on 1st South (U.S. Highway High-way 40 detour) was preparing to make a left turn on Sixth West. The motorist turned in front of two motorcycles causing the collision, The three cyclists, (driver) Leon Wayne Chapman, 27 and a passenger Cathy Wood, 21 both of Citrus Heights, CA and Kelly Dalton Sheffer, 31 of Salt Lake City, driver of the second cycle all received bruises and abrasions and had visible bleeding. They were transported to the Uintah County Hospital by ambulance following emergency treatment at the scene. They were treated at the Uintah County Hospital and released. Damage to the DeMille vehicle was estimated at $1000 with $700 damage to each of the motorcycles. Investigating officer, Paul Parker, VCPD cited Mrs. DeMille for failure to yield from the left turn lane. |
