OCR Text	Show Billows Shoots 68 inPortland PORTLAND, Ore, Aug. 1 Wl All the old and famous golfers arriving ar-riving in Portland for the national amateur golf tournament next week wore worried frowns today when they learned Ray Billows of Pough-keepsie, Pough-keepsie, N. Y.. smacked out a 68 on the Alderwood Country club course. Par is 72. The New York Stat champion was out in 34 and back in the same number of strokes yesterday during a practice round in preparation for the opening of the tournament Monday. Mon-day. Johnny Goodman of Omaha, former for-mer open champion, took just enough time to change his clothes sfter stepping off Ihe train and then played 1 holes in 71. Freddie Haas, Louisiana state university star and national collegiate champion, cham-pion, wound up his round with a 72. Johnny Fischer, the defending champion, reachea Portland today to get in a few practice licks.
