Show South-East Offers Technicolor Movie The brilliant Technicoior success, "A Stsr Is Born," starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, opened today at the South-East theater in Sugarhouae, with a selected program pro-gram of short subjects, hesded by the academy award winner, "Give Me Liberty." Janet has a make-believe role as a young movie-struck youngster who comes to Hollywood to mske good, aided by rhe matinee idol, played by March. The matinee star, a hard drinker, ia sliding downhill when he gets Janet her first break, and marries her as she climbs to stardom. Adolphe tyenjou, aa a producer, and May Robson, as the fiery old grsndmother who inspires Janet in her trip to stardom, have major supporting sup-porting roles. Also in the cast are Andy Devine. Lionel Stander, Owen Moore and Edgar Williams. |
