FIREMEN URGE REPAIROF HALL City to Prepare Cost Estimates City Commissioner P. It. Goggin Thursday said the city purchasing agent was preparing coat estimates on renovating the Veteran Volunteer Volun-teer Firemen's association hall, 233 Canyon road. Commissioner Govt gin's action followed a plea Wednesday from Mrs. John B. Aird, 56T Twelfth avenue, av-enue, president of the women's auxiliary aux-iliary to the association. Mrs. Aird, who hss appeared before be-fore the commission numerous times, threatened to "come back again" if the city did not take immediate im-mediate action toward doing needed repair work on the building. The city, many yearn ago. was deeded the building as a gift and has leased it to the firemen's association asso-ciation for $1 a year. Commiasioner Goggin said the cost estimates as prepared by the purchasing agent will be submitted submit-ted to the commission possibly next week. "Then we'll have to find the money," Mr. Goggin said.
