Show FIREMEN URGE REPAIROF HALL City to Prepare Cost Estimates City Commissioner P. It. Goggin Thursday said the city purchasing agent was preparing coat estimates on renovating the Veteran Volunteer Volun-teer Firemen's association hall, 233 Canyon road. Commissioner Govt gin's action followed a plea Wednesday from Mrs. John B. Aird, 56T Twelfth avenue, av-enue, president of the women's auxiliary aux-iliary to the association. Mrs. Aird, who hss appeared before be-fore the commission numerous times, threatened to "come back again" if the city did not take immediate im-mediate action toward doing needed repair work on the building. The city, many yearn ago. was deeded the building as a gift and has leased it to the firemen's association asso-ciation for $1 a year. Commiasioner Goggin said the cost estimates as prepared by the purchasing agent will be submitted submit-ted to the commission possibly next week. "Then we'll have to find the money," Mr. Goggin said. |
