Show ORDNANCE DEPOT AT TOOELE TO CLOSE APRIL 15 A tentative date of April 15 Tuesday was set by officials of Tooele ordnance depot and the state welfare commission when the segregation center in Tooele for about 60 youths from the state industrial in-dustrial school will be closed, it was announced by John Farr Larson, Lar-son, director of services for children, chil-dren, welfare commission. Sophus Bertelson, welfare commission com-mission chairman; Mr. Larson and other welfare representativs Tuesday met at the Tooele installation instal-lation with Col. Leo H. Heintz, commanding officer, and the agreement was reached. The problem prob-lem of relocating the segregation center has not been solved, Mr. Larson said. Possibilities under discussion include in-clude a forestry camp similar to Civilian Conservation corps projects proj-ects and a ranch camp, Mr. Larson Lar-son said. The joint legislative appropriations ap-propriations committee and a special spe-cial committee from the senate have been working with the welfare wel-fare commission on the problem. |
