Show (Paragraphs Of) (Interest . . . Serving with the historic 5th Cavalry Regiment of 1st Cavalry Division at Tokyo, Japan, is Private Pri-vate Marsel K. Tingey, Springville, Utah. Tingey enlisted in the army ar-my in September, 1946, and re-cived re-cived basic training at Aberdeen, Md. He embarked for overseas duty in December, 1946. While a civilian, he graduated from the Springville high school. After discharge dis-charge he intends to go to college under the G. I. Bill of Rights. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tingey, reside re-side at 203 Brookside Drive. Mrs. Jane Stewart is visiting relatives and friends in Sacramento, Sacramen-to, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Weight spent a few days of last week in St. George visiting thir son Newell New-ell Weight and family. Newell is music instructor at Dixie College, St. George and his parents saw the opera presented under his direction. di-rection. Mrs. May Bird came from Salt Lake City to spend the week-end with relatives and friends here. She also visited a daughter, Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Harmer, and family at Payson. Mrs. John Blanchard left this week to visit a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Gil-bert Pulsipher and family, at Denver, Den-ver, Colo. The Pulsiphers have a new baby daughter. ' Mrs. Sarah Loynd, in company with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Prothero, has just returned from an enjoyable trip to California. They visited relatives and friends in Los Angeles, Ange-les, Long Beach, Pasadena, and other places of intereest on the coast. Mrs. A. M. Rudolph, the former Inez Perry and little daughter, Dixie Lee, of Burley, Idaho, spent a few days of last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. aPrley Perry at Maplton and with other relatives and friends in Springville and Provo. On Thursday afternoon she was honored with a party 'given 'giv-en for a group of friends by Mrs. Mabel Hansen and Mrs. Madge Thorn, at the home of the latter. Miss Connie Lancaster recently returned from an enjoyable visit with her father, Richard C. Lancaster, Lan-caster, at Berkeley, Cal. Mr. Lancaster Lan-caster is a former resident of this city. ' Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weight, in company with Dr. and Mrs.' J. J. Weight of Provo, have returned from an enjoyable two-weeks' trip through the southern states. They went by way of Texas visiting the larger cities in the state and the extensive range lands and oil fields, and were especially inter-sted inter-sted in Carlsbad Cavern in New Mexico. They arrived in New Orleans, Or-leans, La., in time for the Mardi Gras celebration. They also visited points of interest in the surrounding surround-ing states. The return trip was made by way of Texas and Arizona, Arizo-na, spending a short time in Old Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. David P. Noakes of Logan are spending the week here with Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long and family. Mrs. Flossie Sanford spent three days of last wek in Nephi where she attended a family reunion and also visited relatives and friends. Miss Louise Long of Salt Lake City visited over the week-end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long and other rejatives. Mr. and Mrs. Max Larsen entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bird and children. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long visited vis-ited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Price at Heber City. Mrs. Burns Watts and daughter, Judith Am, and son, Steven B., have returned to thir home in Sahara Sa-hara Village near Ogden, after a ten-day visit with her mother, i Mrs. Belle W. Childs and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Willis K. Johnson recently returned from St. George where they spent five weeks enjoying en-joying the fine weather, working in the temple and visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Brown and children, accompanied by Mrs. Abe Ullock, left early this week for a few days' visit with relatives and friends in California. Mrs. Ullock has been visiting here from California Cali-fornia the past few weeks. |
