Just coming to stores is a 39c carton containing pastry mix and dehydrated apples for a jiffy-quick pie. Soak apples while adding water wat-er to pastry, shape bottom crust in pan, pop in apples (plus your own cup sugar,) add top crust, and an eight-inch pie goes in the oven. Also on its way from th USDA Experiment Station in Hawaii, is flavorful, vitamin-C-rich . guava juice powder. Experts say it keeps the fruit-aroma and easy-jell qualities of the original pear for making guava jelly. It blends well with other fruit juices and adds to their nutritive value and can be used to flavor nectars, icecream and candy. |
