Show Roper-Houtz Wedding Event Of Past Week A charming bride of the past week is Mrs. Worland Jay Houtz (Vona Roper), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Roper of Provo. She exchanged vows with Mr. Houtz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Houtz, formerly of Maplton, in the Salt Lake temple. At the temple ceremony cere-mony were parents of the young couple and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dunford. Mr. and Mrs. Roper gave a wedding wed-ding dinner for the 'couple immediately immedi-ately after the marriage. A reception was tendered the newlyweds Thursday evening in the First ward hall. The bride wore an attractive gown of blue with white brocade. A bead coronet coro-net was worn with the fingertip length veil. She carried a bride's bouquet of roses and gardenias. Miss Dorothy Frampton was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Adine Gardner, Renae Wilkie. Little La-donna La-donna Houtz was flower girl. Blair Binks of Mapleton attended the groom. The gift room was in charge of Mrs. Harry Wilkie and Beth Ostler Ost-ler of Provo. A large wedding cake centered the refreshment table which was in charge of Mrs. Maurine Startup. Start-up. The bride is a graduate of Provo Pro-vo high school and a former student stu-dent of BYU. She is a mem her of Lambda Delta Sigma. Mr. Houtz is a graduate of Roosevelt high school. H has three years' naval service to his credit. Mr. and Mrs. Houtz will live in Springville. |
