Show GIRL SCOUTS PLAN OBSERVANCE OF 35TII ANNIVERSARY March 9 to 15 has been designated desig-nated as Girl Scout Birthday vveeK. fcuiu numeruus activities o-iiu programs are being planned by the Girl Scouts commemorating the 35th anniversary of the organization organiza-tion of the Girl Scout movement. The week's activities will open Sunday, March 9, with a Scout's Own, presented in the tabernacle at Provo, beginning at 3 p. m., to which the general public is invited., v "Scouts Own" is 'an inspirational gathering, planned and conducted by the Girl Scouts and their leaders, lead-ers, not as a religious service, but with an aim to help girls realize the ideals of Girl Scouting 'through music, readings and informal talks. The Girl Scouts of Springville comprising some forty members, will participate in the Scouts Own service on Sunday as a part of the week's observance. On Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, the Birthday of Girl Scouts, members of the three Springville troops are being invited invit-ed to a party at the home of Mrs. Harold Whiting where an interesting interest-ing program is being planned, to include a number of picture slides. In charge of the local Girl Scout troops, which have shown a marked mark-ed increase in membership and interest in-terest since their organization, are Mrs. A. C. Chader, Troop One leader; lead-er; Mrs. Arch Banner, Troop Two leader; Mrs. Frank Crandall, Troop Three leader. Mrs. Sterling Price is also assisting the leaders with Girl Scout work. |
