Show 1 " - ( City Of Faith By MAX SINGLETON The following verses were written by Max Singleton, while confined recently to the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, inspiration coining when he looked over the city from a window in the hospital list as the lighls were turned on. As I sit in my room on the hillsiJe, ' Overlooking the city of Zion; My heart fills with the warmth of pride, For the faith of this city is mine. Its buildings are tall and stately. The people are cordial and gay. And the hopes of my sou! seem more worthy, My cares less and less each new day. The sun drops in time to the west, As nature's bright lights slowly dim; Then dusk settles over each nest With an effect of a city that's prim. Then Ma n s own light is turned on. The result, is a heauiful glow. It's beauty surpasses the dawn, And the stars when reflected on snow. There are too many colors to number. Too many forms to divide. Yes-the sight is one you II remember; As unequaled wherever you ride. You may seek what you like the best; Of life and its simplicity. , But the dearest to me fellow guest. Is the city of faith Salt Lake Crly. |
