Show Longer Life For Your Nylons A 5 ; - ' t. . ..... ... ....... . Now that at long last you can get nylon stockings, do yourself a good turn by re-dycing them a); home when they bepin to fade. You can give your hosiery months of extra life and new color-beauty this way. A dime box of special Tintex stocking dyes will do the trick at less than two cents a pair.' The dyes come in six fashion-new ehades, but you can get other tones by simply varying the amount of dye in the solution. The same dyes can be used also for rayon, silk, cotton and wool stockings. Here's another good tip. Don't despair when you get a run in one stocking. Save the good one until you get another odd stocking. Then put them together, as Dancer Louise Ilolden is doing above, for a re-matching dip in the dye-bath. A preliminary step, in this case, is to take out enough color to enable you to re-dye. Color remover, available at the same counters as the dyes, will do this for you. Incidentally, if you have faded clothing or home decorations around, a few swishes in the dye-bath dye-bath will do wonders for them, too. There's a new all-fabric dye out that comes in more than 50 colors. It works on every type of material, including "Celanese", acetate, nylon ny-lon and rayon. |
