Show EXPERT URGES CAMPAIGN ON INSECTS, PESTS Eradication of bedbugs, grasshoppers grass-hoppers cattle grubs, rats, and other city, house farm and crop pests in Utah was urged today by Dr. G. F. Knowlton, Utah State Agricultural college extension service entomologist. Traps, poison bait, insect sprays, dips, and other equipment and material should be acquired immediately imme-diately for the war on pests, which daily spread disease and cause financial fi-nancial loss, he advised, adding that "insects alone rob Utahns of several million dollars annually." annual-ly." A recent survey reveals that rats have spread rapidly over the state, infesting communities and farming areas that were previously almost free of them. Rats are one of the worst carriers of disease germs, and in addition, on farms, eat a large quantity of feed. Traps should be set, and poison bait spread immediately, if they are to be kept under control." |
