Show PROSPERITY FORESEEN Blf MANUFACTURER Lowell, Mass., Factory Owner Looks for Large Market Next Year. Manufacturing in the United States will increase the next few years as never before, be-fore, says J. Johnson, a manufacturer , of Uowell, Mass., who. with his wife, has made an automobile tour to the Pacific coast and is stopping over in Salt Lake on his return east. Mr. Johnson says at present manufacturers of the east are preparing for next veer's large market by improving facilities. He says a movement was started in the east immediately on the return of soldiers sol-diers to make surveys of available positions posi-tions in manufacturing plants, in order that positions would be waiting for the men. Many of the return service men do not seem able to settle down to work, especially those who have once been on the sea. he declared. Mr. Johnson's survey of the west convince'.! con-vince'.! him that it is even more prosperous pros-perous than the east, especially the Pacific Pa-cific coast. If. A. Warren, owner of the Warren Law Publishing company of New York, who is stopping over in Salt Lake, says that beginning next year and lasting for six to eight years . the nation will see rhe greatest prosperity ever witnessed in both finance and industry. Mr. Warren says by that time the reconstruction program pro-gram of the nation will be well under way and conditions will again be normal. Industrial and trade conditions, he savs, will improve greatly. The west, "he thinks, will share even more than the east in this prosperity, as there Is more room for development. Mr. Warren each year visits every capital cap-ital of America on business and is just returning east with his family after visiting vis-iting the Pacific coast. He savs general sentiment is that there Is too "much discussion, dis-cussion, general secrecy and slowness of action on the park of congress on all national na-tional affairs, especially covering the league of nations. |
