Show ALASKAN ROAD BILL REPORTED FAVORABL Y WASHINGTON'. July 31. Favorable report on a bill providing- an additional 17,000,000 for construction of theAlas-kan theAlas-kan railroad to meet increased c,)sts was ordered today by the housed erritorles committee. Several members of the appropriations and territories committees will leave Saturday Sat-urday for Alaska to inspect work on the railway. Anions' the representatives who will make the trip are: Johnson, "Washington "Wash-ington ; Brooks, Pennsylvania; Strong, Kansas; Watson, Virginia, and Davey, Ohio. Alaskan Delegate Grlsby today introduced intro-duced bills appropriating' $2,500,000 for deeoening and widening the channel of Dry straits, Alaska, and $200,000 for constructing con-structing a federal building at Fairbanks. |
