Show INFORMATION FOR THE LAWMAKERS Salt tae Chapter of American Mining Congress Is Collecting Much Data on Mineral Production. Preparatory to the big "copper meeetint;" to be held in Washington, opening August 7, and the conferences to be held by the war industries board relative to metal mining in all of its phases, the Halt Lake chapter of the American Mining congress is busily engaged en-gaged in collecting a mass of data bearing bear-ing on this subject. Blanks have been sent out to mine operators, regardless of the character of mine they are developing, seeking detailed information as to the cost of metal production, covering tho freight rates, smelter charges cost of labor, material and supplies, in fact, no phase of the question has been overlooked. A. G. Mackenzie, secretary of the Salt Lake chapter, will leave early in the week for the national capital, and Walter Wal-ter Fitch, Sr., will leave a few days later to be present at the conference. It is probable that nearly all of Hhe big producers of Utah and Nevada will be represented at this important series of meetings, most of them by men from their New York or other eastern offices. |
