Russell, formerly for-merly an instructor at the Weber Normal college and later a member of the faculty fac-ulty of Columbia university, has been commissioned a first lieutenant in the intelligence in-telligence department of the army and expects to soon be inFrance. This is. the information received here today by Mrs. Russell, who is visiting at the home of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Edward I. Rich. Lieutenant Russell was drafted and after af-ter six weeks as a private he was given a commission in one of the important branches of the service. He is a linguist and has traveled extensively In Europe. He spent two and one-half years in Russia. Rus-sia. Lieutenant Russell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Russell, 130 Third avenue, ave-nue, Salt Lake, and is well known in that city, as well as in Ogden, Logan and Provo, for his educational work. |
