Show WAR WORK FILMS STATE FAIR FEATURE Activities of Government at Home and Abroad Shown Here in Federal Fed-eral Exhibit. Soldiers and sailors on duty at the front, in camp and aboard ship, farmers farm-ers striving for increased crops in this country, and hosts of others engaged in backing up the fighters, are to be shown in motion pictures at the state fair, which is to open here on Saturday, Satur-day, September 28, and end on Saturday, Satur-day, October 5. These war efforts of America at home and abroad are to be depicted in connection with the combined com-bined exhibits of the governmeut. Tho military, naval and food production produc-tion and conservation films are to be supplemented, Secretary Earl Jay Glade says, by beautiful views of America as seen in tho national parks and bv pictures pic-tures showing reclamation of arid lands, highway construction and other governmental gov-ernmental activities. These films will be shown at twenty-three state fairs from New York to California, it is announced. an-nounced. Because of the efforts of the department depart-ment of agriculture to stimulate increased in-creased food production, probably more films will be shown on this subject than any other. Pictures have been taken in many parts of the country to illustrate improved methods of agriculture, agricul-ture, stock raising, home economics and forest management. The best and most appropriate of these will be shown at the state fair to be held here. |
