Show UTAH PROJECT TO BE INVESTIGATED WASHINGTON, July 26. The reclamation rec-lamation service, as the result of recommendations rec-ommendations made by Senator King, today set aside a fund sufficient for a complete and final investigation of the Castle Peak irrigation project, Duchesne Du-chesne county, to determine the amount of money that must be appropriated to build and complete this project. The service regards the project as thoroughly thorough-ly feasible and meritorious, but, on the data available, is not able to formulate a definite estimate for submission to congress. The survey is to be made immediately. im-mediately. Reports now on hand on the Price river project, Senator King was told, show this project to have some merit, but data as to the amount of water available is not complete. The senator asked that surveys to determine the exact water supply be made immediately, immedi-ately, and assurance was given that this' would be done. Tho survey of this project will also go into the question of private water rights, and will ascertain ascer-tain the amount of Water available for the government over and above that already filed upon. |
