Show I TRAIN AT LUND. Demonstrators of Salt Lake Route and Agricultural College on Desert. Special to The Tribune. I.UND, March 7. Today enthusiastic members of the Cedar City branch of tho Utah Agricultural college, together with about 100 citizens of Lund and vicinity, visited the special Salt Lake rtoute-Tjtfi.h Agricultural college demonstration demon-stration train, which arrived hero this morning. All expressed satisfaction with tho exhibits shown In tho cars, with tho quality of livestock carried on the train and at tho clearnessrof the explanations given by those In charge of the methods of agriculture which they recommend. In the afternoon addresses were given In the lecture car. Professor L. A. Morrill, Mor-rill, agricultural expert of the Salt Lako Routo, was the principal speaker, and he" dovotcd most of his talk to the possibilities possi-bilities of dry farming, and also discussed dis-cussed Irrigation by pumping water from beneath the surface. Other speakers speak-ers were Professors W. W. McLaughlin, L. M. Wlnsor, John T. Calne Hi and Ben R. JEIdredge of the dairy division of the United States department of agriculture. agri-culture. Tomorrow morning the demonstration train will leave for Overton, where a day will be devoted to the agricultural propaganda. |
