Tho senate sen-ate irrigation committeo today considered consid-ered tho Borah bill authorizing a loan of $100,000,000 to tho reclamation fund as recommended by Socrotary Lano, but after some discussion concluded it would bo unwiso to press 'thin measure until congress acts upon tho bill reported re-ported to both sonnto and house today granting extension of tirno to settlors in which to pay for water. It was agreed to urgo prompt action on this oxtonsion bill, which gives twonty years in which to mako payments, ami the committee Boomed satisfied this oxtonsion ox-tonsion can bo granted. Friends of both measures bolievo thero will bo a bettor chanco for getting tho loan if tho oxtonsion ox-tonsion bill is first disposed of. Senator Sena-tor Borah has agreed to this programme, pro-gramme, provided the committoo will secure early action on tho loan bill, and hcvaB assured this would bo douo. |
