Show I M. C. . ILL EI BOY SCOUT LECTURES General Invitation to Public Extended; No Charge for Admission. The course in instruction for boy-scout masters which the Y. M. C, A. is offering this winter will commence January S. 1011. and continue till February 10, The lectures and demonstrations of which the course consists ' will bu given every Thursday evening. Tin course is open to any man over seventeen years and Is Siven free of charge. Those taking U will bo under no obligation to conduct a troop of boy scout.-;, Following is tho schedule of lectures to be given: January S 7:30 to S:30 p. m.. lecture on general method of organization, Homer Ho-mer lu Holslngton: S:30 to ff:30 P- m-. knot tying with practice, under direction of II. Januarv -J2 7:30 to S:30 p. m.. rope splicing with practice, under the direction direc-tion of" H. Xepperkorn; S;30 to 9:30 p. in., lecture on first aid to the injured, covering cov-ering the structuro and Important functions func-tions of the human body, skeleton, muscles, mus-cles, circulation system and respiration system, Dr. C. A. Wherry. January 20 7 30 to S:30 p. m thj use of wigwag signaling system with practice, prac-tice, under direction of Chief Gunners Mate Brecn; 8:30 to 0:30 p. m.. lecture on first aid to the Injured, covering common com-mon accidents, sprains, dislocations, broken bones, fractures, wounds and severed sev-ered arteries. February 5 7:30 to S:30 p. m., uso of scmlphore signaling system with prac-tlco, prac-tlco, under the direction of Roy Williams; S:30 to 9-30 p. m.. demonstration of tho correct uso of bandages, splints and stimulants, under the direction of Dr. C. A'. Wherry. February 12 7:30 to S:30 p. m.. Indian signs and signals and compass directions, by Homer L. Holslngton, S:30 to 9.30 p. m., treatment of common emergencies, drowning, cramp, sunstroke, heat exhaustion, ex-haustion, frost bite and freezing, under the direction of Dr. C. A. Wherry. February 10 7:30 to 3:30 p. m., the use of military drill practice, under the dlroctlon of George H Marshall; 8:30 to 9:30 p. m., lecture on first aid to tho Injured, covering tho treatment of burns, scalds, fainting, lockjaw and poisoning, how to removo foreign matter from the eye, by Dr. C- A. Wherry. Also methods of transportation of tho wounded, fireman's fire-man's carry, use of boy scout staff In forming litters and bicycle ambulance. February 26 7:30 to S;30 p. in., military mili-tary drills with practice, under direction of George II Marshall: 8 30 to 0:30 p. in., demonstration of fire building without with-out matches. Outdoor work As early in the spring as possible several outdoor excursions, under the direction of L. C. Miller, will ho held, at which time tho following subjects sub-jects will bo taken up: Tracking, tree Identification, onc-nlght camps, outdoor cooking, etc. Note The school Is open to any man fseventccn years and over).
