Show Cross-Country Cadillac THE 1911 MODEL CADILLAC DRIVEN FROM DETROIT TO SAL ..' GLSZKIIZIJESCTX S.' Tho abovo is a picture taken at tho finish of tho "home run in a Cadillac" made by Harry L. Bracken of tho Raymond-Bracken Automobile company, and Archie Browning of Ogden. This picture was taken immediately upon tho arrival at tho garage Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The run was mado in eight days. Mr. Bracken left Detroit at -3 o'clock on the afternoon of Monday, the 8th inst. His total trav-cling trav-cling time was about eighty-eight hours, tho speedomotor showing over 2000 miles traveled. This unquestionably unquestion-ably is a record and one hard to beat. Tho featuro of this. run is that after tho first filling of tho radiator at Detroit, De-troit, no water was added thereto during dur-ing tho ontiro trip, and tho radiator is not dry yet. This, so "far as known, is an unprecedented unpre-cedented feat, being the longest distance dis-tance ever traveled by any automobilo without refilling tho rndiator. Mr, Bracken and Mr. Browning were very much worn out, it being a very severe task on tho enduranco of tho men as well as the car. Tho roads encountered encoun-tered wore probably worse at tllis season sea-son of tho year than nt any other. Sorao placos the mud was over tho hubs with rain falling in torrents. Othor places tho sand was so.deop and heavy that tho whools would spiu with tho throttle opon and tho car barely moving. |
