Show Utah Leasing Company Places Order for Fifty-Ton Cyanide Plant. HAS LONG LEASE ON TELEGRAPH MINE Refractory Ores Brought Down . to Process Allowing Good Profits. Tho Utah Leasing company on Saturday Satur-day placed an order with the AJlls-Chal-mers company of Salt Lake for "a fifty-ton fifty-ton cyanide plant, to be Installed within the next two months at tho head of Bingham Bing-ham Canyon, on the old Telegraph property. prop-erty. Tho Utah 'Leasing company, of which J. C. Dick is president and genoral manager. Is the- owner of a long-term leaso on this noted old producer, tho mlno being the property of tho United States Smelting, Rellning and Mining company. Mr. Dick has been leasing on tho Telegraph Tele-graph for several years past, shipping in the neighborhood of 10,000 tons of tho highly slllclous gold and silver ores contained con-tained in the mine to the Salt Lake vallev smelters for converter lining, for which purpose it Is admirably adapted. But on account of the slllclous contents of tho rock, direct shipmentas a rule, docs not nay, and for a year past Mr. Dick has had experiments made on the ore to so-curo so-curo tho best method of reducing it to a commercial basis. Theso experiments have been conducted bv T. P. Holt an ongincer of the University or Utah. Lvorything will bo slimed, said Mr. Dick yesterday. The 010 will bo ground to a 150 mesh, the slimes agitated and then liltered with tho Oliver filter. The ore will average ?S per ton in gold and silver, and a saving of from SO to S5 per cent of tho metallic contents of the rook has been demonstrated possible by the uso of the method to be emploved in thc-new thc-new plant. There are 30.000 tons of oro now known to exist In this old propertv. and there Is a "possible tonnage of 30.000 tons more, so the Utah Leasing company will not lack food for the mill.
