Show POLICE DECLARE THOMAS AN UNDESIRABLE CITIZEN Special to Tho Tribune. OGDEN-, Aug. .20. A. Thomas, now awaiting trial before the justice of the peace at Pleasant View on a cliarge of brutally assaulting a young woman whom he had taken to Ogdon canyon for a buggy rido, is again ln trouble. This morning ho was brought berore Judge J. D. Murphy on a chargo of vagrancy. Detective De-tective Pendor told the court that Thomas has no visible meana of support and has been living off the earnings of a fallen woman. Tho hearing was postponed until un-til additional ovldencc could be procured. pro-cured. The chargo of assault upon which Thomas Is now awaiting trial Is of an aggravated nature. He is said to havo struck a young woman with his fists, knocking her from tho buggy after he had got her intoxicated at one of thu resorts in Ogden canyon. Leaving hor on a lonely road late at mgnt, the girl finally made her way to tho home of a nearby resident, where sne w;as given lodging for the night. He ootalncd n change of venue from Judge Murphy's court to the Pleasant View court. A casn bond of ?2fi0 has been deposited for his appearance. Thomas has an unenviable reputation, having been fined ?75 several weeks ago for furnishing cigarettes to Inmates of tho State Industrial school. j |
