Pardee, Riley's counsel, sixty days' extension of tlmo in which to servo aird Me a bill of exceptions was granted. This will hbld the ease In iho district court ;a little more than a month beyond the i time set for the execution of Riley, and j It Is likely that considerable more time will be consumed In the supreme court, to which Riley, through his attorney, hus announced that ho will appeal. y Riley and Thorne killed Kassoll while ' robbing Fassell's store. Thorne, the younger of the two, a mere boy. Ilrlng I the fatal shot. Both were apprehended by the police two or three hours later and both confessed, Thorne signing lila confession. Riley was tried lirst and was found guilty. Then Thorne was tried and he, too. was found guilty and was sentenced to death, September 9.
