Tho action was transmitted to Salt Lake by a tolcgrnm, which stated that a letter would follow. Tho tolegram was signed by G. P. Pollock, acting Laud Commissioner, Commis-sioner, and stated that tho lands described de-scribed by ordor of tho Secretary of tho Interior had been Buspondod from entry, filing nnd selection under tho public land laws. Talion on Eoports. This action is in compliance with reoommendations in 11 preliminary ro-port ro-port made last fall bv G. E. Hair, nn inspector of tho General Land Ofiico, and J. A. Taft, a geologist of tho department, depart-ment, who, together, spent throo months in examining tho lands of tho Stato with roferonco to coal deposits, boliovod to bo within thorn. Coming at this time, concurront with the suits filed by tho Government charging wholosalo 1'raudB in obtaining coal lands, tho action is nil tho moro interesting. Will Stop the Deal. This will, for tho time being, and until un-til action is takon by Congress as to the disposition to bo made of coal lands, provont further violations of tho intent of tho coal land laws and retain the landB indefinitely in tho ownership of tho Poderal Government. The only remaiuing coal lands now subject to tho grabbing procoss aro those found on tho Stato school lands, known as school sections, which aro sections sec-tions 2, 10, 32 and 30 of ench township. town-ship. As lo this class of lands, it is now up to tho Stato Land Board to take action and prevent a eontimianco of tho svstom that lias in a moasuro robbod the Stato of a good part of its landed heritngo.
