Show I POLICE OFFICER HURT Thrown to Ground While Trying to Board Patrol Wagon. Police Ofllcer S. B. Wood was badly jammed up early Saturday morning while, attempting to board tho patrol wagon at State and Second South stroots. Tho "wagon, piloted by ODlcor Morrison, was answering a hurry call and turned Into Second South from State at a lively clip. Morrison did not see his brother ofllcer as ho ran Into tho street to catch tho wagon, and, consequently, made no effort to slow up. "Wood grahbod the handle at the rear and was thrown heavily to the ground, Morrison pushing the team forward at a furious clip, heedless heed-less of tho accident. "Wood was taken first to a near-by drug store and afterward to his home, nt 1579 Myrtle street, Plis right knee was badly wrenched and ho was otherwise other-wise cut and bruised. He will bo unablo to report for duty for several dayB. |
