Show PROMINENT CITIZEN OF RICHFIELD CALLED HENCE' Special to The Tribune RICHFIELD, Utah. May 28. LeFcvre Cuddebnck, who died at his home In Richfield yesterday, hud been In Ill-health Ill-health for about six weeks and bedridden bedrid-den for nearly a month. Ever since an attack of la grippe some years ago he never regained his wonted strength. Heart failure was the Immediate cause of dissolution. LeFevre Cuddeback was born at Dutch Hollow, Kayuga county, N. Y.. In November, 1S39. His parents were Dewlt Clinton Cuddeback and Kate Ann LeFevre. In 1S60, when he was 21 years of age. he went to California by steamship and engaged successfully In placer mining for ten years. At the end of that period he paid his parents In New York a short visit and returned to California, In 1S70. He was one of the first to follow fol-low the stampede to White Pines. Nev., and operated there with great success until attracted by reports from Lewis-ton, Lewis-ton, Utah, tho present site of Mercur. At Lewlston, LeFevre Cuddeback was joined In 1872 by Ills only brother, Orson Cuddeback, who came on from New York. Two years later he went to San Francisco to visit. an uncle residing resid-ing there and at tho end of two months returned to Utah, traveling overland. At this time he invested In a large llock of shee p and took up a fine ranch at Black Knolls, In Sevier county. Since 1S74 he has engaged In the sheep business busi-ness and Sevier county has been his home. In 1SS0 he married Mrs. Lorenzo Pier, who died about one year ago. No children chil-dren were born to this union. The one stepchild left Is Almon Pier. 24 years old. In 1900 the ranch was sold and Mr. and Mrs. Cuddeback moved to Richfield, Rich-field, where they erected a fine residence. resi-dence. Thero were eight boys originally In the Cuddeback family, but the only onc left Is Orson, who Uvea at Sallna, this county. He Is a prominent stock man. |
